A plain list of tree companies around New Orleans, with the facts you can check for yourself.
No star ratings, no paid spots, and nobody ranks higher for being our client.
Working in Jefferson Parish? Ask for the parish license number. The parish publishes the list of
licensed tree companies; check the number against it (the badges in this guide link to it).
Ask who holds the state arborist license. Louisiana licenses arborists through the Department of
Agriculture and Forestry's Horticulture Commission.
Get proof of insurance from the insurer, not a photo of a card: liability, and workers'
compensation if they have a crew. A fall or a dropped limb is the expensive kind of accident.
Get the estimate in writing. Which trees and limbs, whether the stump gets ground, and whether
the debris gets hauled away. Those three are where quotes quietly differ.
After a storm, slow down. Be careful with door-knockers from out of town who want full payment
up front. A local company with a license number and a phone that's answered can wait a day.
ISA certification is a plus, not a license. It's a voluntary credential for a person, and you can
verify it on the ISA's website.
How this guide works
Where the facts come from. Jefferson Parish's own licensed-companies list, the companies' websites,
and public business listings. We show name, phone, base city, a website we found working, and the parish
license where the parish lists one.
Order. Alphabetical. In Orleans, companies with a license we could check come first.
What we never do. Charge to be listed, sell a better spot, copy anyone's reviews, or call a company
unlicensed. If a company isn't on the parish list we just don't show a badge; lists lag renewals.
Claim or fix a listing
Own one of these companies, or spotted something wrong? Tell us and we'll fix it, usually within a day.
Listings are free and stay free. Want yours removed? Say so and it comes down.
