How to hire: the Louisiana rules

Who can advertise as a plumber in Louisiana?

A company may present itself as a plumbing business only if it employs a master plumber. That is the State Plumbing Board's rule through December 31, 2026.

What should a plumbing company's ads show?

The Board's rule says public advertising carries the company's name, physical address, phone number and master plumber license number, shown as LMP and the number. If an ad has none of that, ask for it.
